I have read here and elsewhere that using Iframes is not optimal but I am trying to display a module within CSS tabs within another module and it seems to be the only way. The iframe tag I am using is:

iframe id="PoliticalActivity" seamless="seamless" width="690px" height="600px" src="http://www.dnncreative.com/TestOWS.aspx" /iframe

(had to remove the < > because apparently this forum will allow Iframes!)

I have tried with and without the seamless and id tags.

The Iframe source is a page on my site with a skin that I created that has nothing but one module container. It has no fancy tricks or anything and it is not located on another domain.

When I load the page with the Iframe in it, I get the page for about 2 seconds and then the TestOWS.aspx takes over and I am redirected there.

I cannot use the module directly in the page due to CSS tabs being used and I need to place it INSIDE another module and its a coding nightmare. I would prefer to create a separate page with the module I need and pass some vars via querystring, bingo bango done.

Any tips or anyone done this before? I googled and came up with 90 suggestions to use the Iframe module for this, but that is not possible.

There are modules that will let you put additional modules inside of a tab structure. One that I have used is DNNStuff's Aggregator. It employs very flexible templates to create/configure the tabbed structure AND the content of the tabs.

Yes, iframing things is messy and, at least in my experience, is often less than optimal.

The issue stemmed from attempting to modify a template for a module I had purchased, so incorporating dnnstuff aggregator is not really an option. Instead of banging my head against the wall I have requested a quote to develop the modification from the supplier.

I will let you know what their solution is.

When in doubt, get your wallet out lol... the developer has been very helpful in modifying his module to accomplish my goals. I highly recommend DNNArticle to anyone looking for a CMS, or even a product listing, personal directory or what have you.
