Hi all, does anyone know why image quality on DNN is low ? Image will be bright and clear if it's accessed directly. e.g: http://localhost/dotnetnukedev/Portals/0/Users/001/01/1/btn-home.png Please see the comparison of image on the attachement or this image link.

DotNetNuke doesn't do anything to images. If you are seeing differences, it is because something is altering one of the images. In your example, it looks like the image on the left is somewhat larger than the image on the right. I would guess that the image is being displayed at a size that is different from its actual size. This image resizing can have an effect on image quality. I would want to see the page from which this was taken so that I could look at the underlying HTML. That way, I could determine what is causing the problem. Can you post a link? Again, this has nothing to do with DotNetNuke, but does have a lot to do with the way that an image is being displayed. I hope that this helps.

Hi Joseph, Can you post a link? That's image taken from my local machine. This problem can be reproduced using new installation. Below is the example from fresh installation. Below are the other informations: 1. DotNetNuke Community Version 05.06.00 2. Skins : DNN-MinimalExtropySkin_01.00.07 3. If the image loaded using CSS. e.g: background: url("/dotnetnukedev/Portals/0/logo.gif") no-repeat scroll left bottom transparent The result is image number 2 at attachment. The quality is a little bit better than to using img, but it's still lower from the original image. 4. Already tried with several skin and the result is same. 5. Already tried with IE 8.0 and Firefox 3.6.13 and the result is same.

Hi All, After i look on this site too. I think this site using DNN. The result is same like mine when I compare the image, . The DNNCreative image is 180x180 px and is displayed at that size on the site. If you look on this page, you will see a similar image that is 250x250 px. I don't see any differences between the 180 px image displayed on the page or displayed separately.. The DotNetNuke logo is 261px × 63px but is displayed scaled to 244px × 59px. I would expect to see a tiny degradation in the image due to the scaling. My advice: if you want an image to be displayed at its "original" quality, don't scale it.

Hi Joseph, Yes you're right. I choose wrong example. But it only happen on Firefox 3.6.13 and on IE 8 it looks okay. My advice: if you want an image to be displayed at its "original" quality, don't scale it. >>> Yes, It seems that I must check it again whether that image its stretched or not.

I have a hard time seeing any differences between the image and its rendering on DotNetNuke.com using FF 3.6.13. I even used CTRL+ to expand the display and look at them side by side.

Hi Joseph, Thanks for your help, it's solved now. Image stretched due to zoom feature on firefox. Press CTRL + 0 reset all back to normal.
