We're using Dynamic Form trial. And the module is working great, but there is 1 thing that bother us and make us wondering whether it would be suitable module for us :
We make 2 pages. 1st page only have 1 field with shortname : CellPhone
And the 1st page will redirect to 2nd page, that display the name of the owner of the CellPhone. The name is retrieved from database, the CellPhone is passed to Session Variable.
So on the 2nd page, I make 1 new field : Name, and in the default value options, I choose SQL, and I input like this :
[DatabaseUser].[dbo].stp_GetUserName '$(CellPhone)'
But the field name is still empty. And if I input the parameter directly in default Value - SQL like this : [DatabaseUser].[dbo].stp_GetUserName '02132434' it's working! THe 'Name' field will contain the name of that handphone user.
And the variable $(CellPhone) will also be passed to the 2nd page. To make sure, we display it in one field, and it's showing up the right value.
Do I write the syntax incorrectly in : [DatabaseUser].[dbo].stp_GetUserName '$(CellPhone)' ??
Could you help us out about this?

Your example shows that the value is being passed from the first page to the second page correctly. It also shows that the stored procedure works, provided that it gets a good input. So, something else is happening.
I would suggest that your stored procedure be modified to return special values if the input variable is null or a blank string. That way, you will know for sure.
Possibly, the problem is that the stored procedure is being called before the value is set in the $(CellPhone) field. Is it possible to call the stored procedure directly with the value in the session variable?
This seems like question that Data Springs probably has answered many times. Have you checked with them?

I am having the same trouble, but I read somewhere where the field names need to be DSParam1, DSParam2 or DSParam3 in order to be used in SQL. Therefore, I created hidden fields on Pg 2 that have these names. Then for each hidden field I read the values passed in the session from Pg 1. The values are passing with no worries. However, I have yet to get the SQL reading these field values and setting the DefaultValue properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. So far, I have found no clues on the Datasprings forums. Thanks.

Have you asked for help on the Data Springs forum? My experience with them is that they do provide good help. So ask again if you haven't received a reply to your question. And, it always helps to include as many details as you can.

Sorry for the double post. Lee was working some moderation settings which led me to believe my post didn't post. ;-)
