Is it possible to allow Registered users to submit or post events to the calandar?  They should only be allowed to edit thier own posts, etc.  This seems to be a pre-requiste to be able to label a module "Events" but I cant determine how it is done

Can someone at least tell me if it is possible or not?

The Events module has been upgraded with a lot of new features in the latest 4.3 version and is much more complex than the earlier versions. I've just done experimenting with this new module and it appears that even though there is a moderation setting, I can't see a setting for allowing registered users to post events.

Of course you can give a registered user Edit permissions on the module, but this gives them too much access to all of the modules functions.

I will add this module to the video list, do some research and put together a tutorial for it in a few issues time.

Thanks Lee , the post you pointed to is mine. Thanks for taking the time to answer. The only solution I can see at this time is to modify the module and currently that is beyond my capabilities.

It maybe worth looking at X-Mod

Or having a further look around events modules on snowcovered

XMod is a powerful tool for collecting and presenting data, I'm not sure if it has the capabilities you require, but this is as close as you can get to creating your own custom modules without any programming skills.

It would be worth your time having a look at the module and asking a question to the developer to see if it fits your needs.

Forget the above response, I doubel checked , if you give edit permissions in Module settings, it does indeed only give edite permission to events that the users owns, This is different behavior than most other modules but it does appear to exhibit the behavior I looking for, thank you for making me double check.
