I am thinking of purchasing xmod module but i wanted to be sure if it was worth it.
I need to learn module programming where i can put and pull data into tables via user input
Mostly login, edit, add and update and delete.
and make the forms. as well as IF then statements
should i make it custom or use xmod to accomplish this task?

I've not used Xmod, but I hear good reviews from others. There may be a bit of a learning curve.
Depending on the data that you want to use, the UDT and Reports modules might fit your needs.

i did the udt tutorial why it displays data its not powerful enough and doesnt have form input the way i need it
Lets say I wanted to create a top site list application. It would require alot of custom forms and database tables with unique keys. Then track various statistics.

There is a newer version of the UDT module, and it's now has the words Forms and Lists in its title. You might want to take a look.

Hello,
You may also want to look at the OWS module by r2i which is available for free. If everything goes according to plan this month we may have some introduction tutorials on it for the April issue - we are bringing on board a new tutor for this, so it depends how quickly we can get them up to speed with creating tutorials. - The OWS tutorials will run for 6 months where they will walk you through building a complete module. (fingers crossed that is!)
Thanks,
Lee

Well the good thing about XMod is that is does have a massive user manual, I would contact XMod direct as well with your requirements and ask them if the module is capable of it. - OWS will be able to do it, but it will be 6 months till all of the tutorials are released on an intro module with OWS.
Both of the modules have a big learning curve, so whichever method you choose, it will take some time to implement and learn, thanks,
