I have been searching for a menu structure. What I want is a vertical menu that expand when I click on an item.

If I for example have this page structure:

• Page1
• - Page 1.1
• - Page 1.2
• Page 2
• Page 3
• - Page 3.1
• - Page 3.2
• - Page 3.3

Then my vertical menu should show this:

• Page 1
• Page 2
• Page 3

And when a user click on one of the menu items, the subitems of that menu items should show up, for example if the user clicks on "Page 1", then the following will be shown:

• Page1
• - Page 1.1
• - Page 1.2
• Page 2
• Page 3

Is it possible to style the housemenu, solpart menu or snapsis menu to function like I want?

I think that all of the available menu options will do this. I recommend Snapsis' CSS Nav Menu for ease of use and support, though.

I would prefer to use the HouseMenu because it is free :-)

I have seen the tutorial on this site showing how to style the house menu, but I can't figure out how to style it to function like I want.

How do you want it to function?

I did something similar using the HouseMenu for www.skinningtoolkit.com if you want to learn the techniques I used, they are the same as the method outlined here:
How to create Horizontal CSS menus in DotNetNuke using the HouseMenu

All you need to do is adapt it for vertical. - I will say that it takes a lot of setting up using HouseMenu in this way (I think skinningtoolkit used something like 7 menus which appear as one menu) and you maybe better off opting for a menu such as snapsis as it will save you a lot of time and work. - But the option is there if you wish to attempt it using HouseMenu.
