I am building a site where users can log in and select their preference for a certain entertainment category, eg. Comedy, Music, Theatre etc, and I need to create a section on the Registration page of my dotnetnuke site that allows users to select more than one of these categories (checkboxes) in a "Categories" type property that I can use later to tailor my site to the user's preferences.  I want to be able to use these category preferences for Bulk Emailing, so I can send emails to target users that like Comedy, or Music, etc if they checked that in their Categories property of their profile information.

Is there an easy way I can do this in DotNetNuke?

I believe that one of these tutorials:

shows you how to enforce a checkbox acceptance of a site's Terms and Conditions.

If you add a Profile Proper of type TrueFalse, it will appear as a checkbox on the registration form.  You could add one of these for each category.

If you want to add more sophistication to this process, I'd recommend that you take a look at DataSprings' Dynamic Registration module.  It's got all sorts of bells and whistles.

Now I have to figure out how to add the user's checkbox list selections on the new registration page to the Bulk Email screen, to allow the user to bulk email based on those selections. Any ideas are most welcome.

You might want to set up a security role for each category. Then, the Dynamic Registration module can assign people to roles based on which boxes they check.

Thanks, I wasn't aware that Dynamic Forms could apply roles to registration fields.  That is nice.

I was reading through the user's guide for Dynamic Forms and couldn't find the answer to a question I had, so thought I would ask: 

Do you know if Dynamic Forms will "dynamically" load values in a checkbox list on the registration form from a database table?  Say for example, I added new value in the database, and I wanted that value to show up as an option in the checkbox list on the registration page - will Dynamic Forms be able to do that for me, or will I have to add any new items to the checkbox list manually through the Manage Profile Properties page? 

I suppose there is no way to automate adding new database items as checkbox list items in the registration page and have them be assigned their own security role in this case is there?
