hello,

I downloaded the latest DNN, installed SQL server express 2005 and configured IIS 6.0.  I followed the instruction and created DotNetDuke DB manually using SQL Server Management Studio.  Everything went well configuring but when I do http://localhost/DotNetNuke I got the following error:

"The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist"

Can some one please help me how to fix it ?

Did this happen on your first visit to the site?  If so, it appears that your site never "installed" and that the database never was initialized by DotNetNuke.

Here are some things to try:

• Create a file named App_Offline.htm.  Use a text editor to insert "Hello, there!" in the file.  Place this file in the root directory of your website and then try browsing to the site.  If you then get "Hello, there!" displayed, you at least know that IIS is configured.  You can now rename App_Offline.htm to App_Offline.htm.save.

• Use SQL Server Management Studio Express to look into your database.  Is it empty, or do you see a number of tables that appear to have DotNetNukish name? 
  

• If you don't have lots of tables and stored procedures in the database, try browsing to http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Install...tall.aspx.  You should then see the install proceed.

• If you do seem to have DotNetNuke things installed in your database, delete the database and recreate an empty one.  Then browse to the URL listed in the previous step.
