i am using dnn04 08 ,vs 2005 and windows server 2003.
In my iis under dnnwebsite folder i want to create one virtual directory.
that directory i want to call from dnn link.

is it possible?
if i will do like this any other problem will come  or not?

i created one virtual directory in iis under dnnwebsite folder.

if i browse that  virtual directory i am getting an error like

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do but ... you can create a directory inside of your DotNetNuke web directory and stick html, ascx, or other files there.

If your site lives in c:\website, create c:\website\extras.

Suppose that http://localhost/mydnn points to c:\website. You could have an index.html file in the extras directory. You could refer to http://localhost/mydnn/extras/index.html and it should work.

again my problem is:

i  created one seperate project website web1(this web1 is asp.net mapxtreme6.6 website under vb).
from dnn when i click one link i want to call this website(web1).
u know web1 website have seperate webconfig file.

for that purpose i want to create one virtual directory under dnn0408.
i created this virtual directory.
this virtual directory is  a seperate website.

in dnn from link settings i called this url.
but dnn default page is coming.
why??
can you help me soon?

Hi Joe,

IT works only for html and other pages  but not for aspx pages. It throws a configuration  error if we try to run .aspx page as  specified method you suggested.

Any idea about how to call aspx  page from a  subdirectory to DNN

It's been a while since I tried to do something like that. But I know that you can do it. As I said in the other message, the problem is that the web.config in your other directory might interfere with your DotNetNuke installation's web.config. You will have to look at the error messages to see if that's the problem.
