I am confused about this one. I have been building a prototype website.
So now I am considering rebuilding the whole thing to clean it up into a less corrupted model.
I have been exporting and then inporting portal templates up until now.
Now I wanted to start with a dnn template (when I install the portal) perhaps I will not start with that but just the frame work without the content.
anyway, this new portal is part of the same instance of DNN. so the host setting are the same. when I create a new portal (using the DNN default template because i know it should be a cleaner place to start) I was exspecting the skins to be simply controlled from the page and host properties drop downs. Apparently this is not the case.
my logo is not showing and many design and skin elements are different or missing.
when i look at the page in the prototype portal, it does not just inherit the default host template for the page. it selects it, but the template is the same name. if I match this in the new portal. it does change the page but not for the better.
if the host says use "my skin" and the page says use "my skin" why is this different and why am I so confused?
