I have a really weird problem.
I'm using DNN 4.5.5.  It's been up and running for a few months now and all of a sudden, I can't edit any module.  Here are the specifics

I really appreciate your help, but I don't think you fully understand what I mean.

(1) I see control panel at the top my page functions.

(2) I am in edit mode

(3) When I click on the triangle on the left of the container of the module on any page to edit, I see the pull-down menu for that module - basically the options that are available to me for that option.  On all modules, regardless of page or module, it does not list "edit" as one of my choices.  It starts with "import content" then "export content" and other options that are available for that module. 

My client also has access to the website and I know he inadvertently clicked on something.   I just haven't been able to figure it out.  That's why I'm on the board.  I know someone here with the vast experience with DNN has encountered an "oops moment"

It is possible that your edit privileges have been removed. Are you logging in as an administrator or as a user who should have edit privileges? Check your security roles, the privileges assigned to your security roles, etc.

I am always logged in as adminstrator.

No, it didn't help.  I was telling you that I'm always logged in as adminstrator?  Did I misunderstand the question?

I'm at my wits end on this thing.  Basically, ready to give up DNN all together.  As a newbie, it's been rather challenging.

You possibly misunderstood me. Your edit privileges derive from your being a members of the Administrators role group. You should verify that your administrator account really is a member of the Administrators role group by visiting the Roles page. There is a link in the control panel and also an entry in the Admin menu. You should also visit a page, and click Settings in the control panel to verify that the page settings allow Administrators to edit the page. You can do the same for a module by clicking Settings for a module -- available from the dropdown list associated with the module.

If all of those say that an administrator should be able to edit, then you might want to create a second administrator account and see if the problem is with the user account.

You mentioned that your client may have done something. Can you check to see if your client can edit?

Can you login as host? Do you have the same problem?

When I login as “host” I do not see the “host” options. Weird, but it’s always been that way. That’s why I’ve always logged in as “admin”

Did you originally install the site?

When I install DNN sites I remove admin access to the 'admin' and 'host' accounts as people try to hack into DNN sites with those usernames, so I create new usernames for those accounts. - The person who installed your system may have done the same.

Do you have database access? - If you do you can create a new superuser host account.
