hey!
I want a footer navigation on my site that just displays simple text links to all active pages in the site. I am trying to accomplish this with the dnnLINKS, but it seems to be limited to only displaying links for one level of the site -- either it only displays all the parent pages, or when I am on a sub page, it only displays the subpages in that set.

Is there a way to set this to display links to all pages from all levels? This seems like the most logical use, so I was surprised this is not the default setting.

If this is not possible with the dnnLINKS, does anyone know of any module out there that can do this? Or would it be easy to set up the housemenu or Snapsis menu to behave like this?

The brief description of the LINKS object that I found says that it "Displays a flat menu of links related to the current tab level and parent node."

So, I'm guessing that it won't display everything at once.

TREEVIEWMENU might be more useful, but doesn't display the links all at once.

Yes, it doesn't seem that the LINKS object will be able to do what I need.
I looked at the properties for the TREEVIEWMENU and as it doesn't have a way to display without dropdowns it won't work for what I want either.

I tried the HouseMenu, but it seems it can't display a menu as horizontal and static at the same time -- it shows up with dropdowns even though I have set the mode to S.

I feel like I am missing something here... I would think having a footer nav with all the pages of the site is very much a standard in web design these days; for SEO and accessibility purposes when you use a javascript menu, and even more for usability reasons.
How do you guys normally handle this with DotNetNuke? I can't believe I am the only one wanting to do this

Unless you have a small website, you certainly don't want links to EVERY page, do you?

If you site has a small number of pages at the top level, that's different. You can certainly use Snapsis' Nav Menu to do that, and I'm sure that other menus will do it, too.

Do you have an example of what you'd like to see?

I would think the sites I build are of average size, but I guess they might be a bit smaller than most - around 15-20 pages. This usually end up being two lines of links at the bottom.

Since most of the buttons at the top level have sub-menues under them, there is not even an actual page associated with those.

I imagine there is a way to do this with the snapsis menu and a custom template. I just need to look into that some more. Thank you for your help!

You can do this with the HouseMenu, check out:

If you want the links to be styled as standard links all you have to do is remove the graphic styling elements in the CSS outlined in the tutorial.
