Hello,
I have a short question.
Is it possible to use DotNetNuke functions within a regular .aspx page?
(with the page being in the DotNetNuke folder that is installed)
If it's possible, where can i best find information about this?
Thank you in advance.

I think that it would be very difficult, if not impossible. DotNetNuke is a framework for building web site. Most modules and classes rely on the entire framework being present ...

Just add in the code behind
Imports DotNetNuke.xxx.xxx (VB)
using DotNetNuke.xxx.xxx; (C#)
xxx.xxx - whatever you need from the framework.
It should work if the page is in the folder where DotNetNuke is installed.

You certainly can do that. In a practical sense, though, I don't think that you'll gain much functionality without including the entire framework. Once you have done that, you might as well start with a site that if based inside of the complete framework.

The goal we have is that for a standard asp .net 2.0 website: say xweb, we like to pull the text and graphics out of a dnn portal : say yweb, which reflects roughly the actual website xweb. So that not technical users can maintain the text and graphics through DNN. For every xweb page is a dnn ywebpage available.
So that DNN is uses as a cms and not as the actual website.
Are we the first with this goal? Is it possible?
Thanks for the help already given by the way!

I'm sure that you could do that if your xweb grabs page content from the DotNetNuke database. That seems like an awful lot of work though, because your yweb site is already doing that you need, isn't it?
