Hey! I am trying to use two separate HouseMenus in one site.
I have been able to set it up ok, with a separate style for each menu. But how do I control in which menu a page shows up?
When I add a new page to the site it shows up in both!
I want a site with a small header menu: Home | News | Contact Us
and then a separate main menu: About Us | Location | Solutions | Products... etc.
I am at a bit of a loss as for how to get this to work.
Thank you!!

I understand your problem. There are two ways I worked around this.
I just hard coded these links into the top of the skin file. About Us | Location | Solutions | Products. They will rarely change. pure html.
i wanted a vertical menu at the top that would not have the drop down or fly down menus.
for instance if you click the events button it would take you to the events page. That would then list all of the events. I purchased the janet menu which I think worked for this. it will add automatic links but will not add the host or the admin to the menu. Well I could not get it to do that. maybe I was missing something. (i should request that they make a way to seperate the admin and the host sections of the menu.)
keep in mind the nice janet.menu works only vertically.
also I was missing this at first, if you go into the page settings there is a check mark to say do not include in menu. this will take the link to the page off the default dnn menu.
Then if you use a links skin object you can it to that.

I forgot to mention that you could use janet.menu for the very top About US | Menu. That menu is very skinnable. That is also why I bought it. it was easier to get it to hover and be active in .css class.
However now I am just going with the main Dnn Menu for now. I have not had the time to get that part of it working yet. it would be nice to find that kind of code somewhere.
Good Luck

Thank you wenmonkeymon, yes I might just hard-code the links in the top menu. But I was hoping there would be a way to do this without resorting to that.
Something using the 'scope' variable in the housemenu, perhaps, and setting up the pages in a proper way, but I have not been able to figure it out.
Also, does anyone know how to use the ShowHome variable for the housemenu? I don't want the Home button to appear in my second menu, so I added:
ShowHome
False
to my xml, but that doesn't seem to do anything...
Thanks!

I haven't used the House of Nuke menu, so I'm not sure how to do this. But, if there is a way to exclude certain pages from the menu you could do it with two menus with two different sets of excludes.
I do know that you could do this with the Snapsis Nav Menu.
I also recently became aware of some menu systems from dnn360.net. I haven't used those either, but they seem to have lots of options.

Hope this reply is not too late, there is a video tutorial on how to configure HouseMenu to do this here:
How to create Horizontal CSS menus in DotNetNuke using the HouseMenu
This is using multiple horizontal menus, you just configure the second horizontal menu to display vertically.
The snapsis menu is easier for configuring this setup though.
