I upgraded a DNN 4.0.2 site to 4.07.00 in a test environment at my hosting service. At first everything appeared to be fine, but I checked the User Accounts module since I knew there had been changes to that module. The first thing I noticed was that searches based on the newly added search fields (4.0.2 had only username and email as potential search fields) such as First Name and Last Name returned no hits for what should have been direct matches. Much more critical was that address and phone data, which had been present in the original database, was no longer there. I adjusted the settings to display and require that data, but the fields were empty. However, it would properly store new address data which I entered to existing records. When I posed this issue to my host (PowerDNN) their response was "This is a known issue that we've seen with some upgrades to DNN with older versions. As far as I am aware, it is not possible to retrieve the old data."Since I have more than 800 registered users, re-entering the data is not an option. I have searched the dotnetnuke.com forums and can't find any mention of this issue. Does anyone have any ideas? Perhaps making the upgrade a two step process with two versions? Is this an issue with 4.07 that I should just drop back to an earlier, more stable version (but higher than 4.0 - and if so, what version would you recommend?)Many thanks,Bud
