Hello guys,

I'm new to dnn so please bear with me. I have searched through the posts but it seems I'm the only one with this problem. I have installed on my local xp machine the dnn v4 (on IIS5 + MSSql Express). The installation went smooth, no error. Unfortunately, if I log in with the admin or host account, the menu (solpart menu horizontal bar) does not show any option (i.e. admin and host menu) at all. All the other editing option (i.e. control panel) are there. Also I have noticed that if I close a container by clicking on the minus icon I'm not able to maximize it again. Following the installation tutorial by lee and the installation manual, I have only changed the connection parameters. Did I miss something? Any though will be appreciated.

Still, any attempt maded had the same result. No options to select from in the solpart menu (horiz. bar). I have also noticed that it seems that the css is not used since the update, cancel and delete text at the bottom of each module property is displayed in times new roman. Thanks.

Well, the first thing I was going to suggest was to try a complete re-install, but you already have done. I seem to remember reading this error in one of the forums, i can't remember the solution or which forum it was, I've got a feeling it was the asp.net forum.

I would check the getting started section of: http://forums.asp.net/90/ShowForum.aspx

and the install section of: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/Default.aspx

I've done some initial searching for you but can't find the thread. - Perhaps if you post in those forums someone will be able to help who has come across the problem.

It looks like your installing to the E drive. I don't know if that matters.

Try unzipping the installation to the C drive in a simple directory of its own. I use VS 2005 so I don't know what to do in something else but I then open the directory in VS05 and create a new database in the database folder. I then run without debugging. It runs the install for me, click on the link and bam its there.
