my website (dnn 4.5.3) fails from time to time again and again. This is the comment of my hosting provider (WH4L):

"It seems like it is caused by recompilation. When this appication is idel for too long, asp.net will recycle. It is impossible that we can stop the recycle. What you can do is you can setup a scheduled tasks via control panel and browse your site every 15 minutes, this way it will keep yous ite alive and avoid the recompliation again. "

Could it be true? Setting up a scheduled task there is fee required. Is there a possibility to fix this issue internaly in the application?

That is the way that ASP.Net works. If an application isn't used, it's unloaded from memory. It then has to be reloaded and recompiled when used again.

Your ISP could configure your site to lengthen the time before things are unloaded. If you are actually sharing a server with others, it's reasonable for them to not want to do this.

The alternative, pinging the site to "keep alive" is a common solution. There are free sites that will do this, like host-tracker.com.

No. Those scheduled tasks will run only when DotNetNuke is running. You need to implement one of the solutions to keep your site from being unloaded.
