Ive looked high and low in the CSS for a value ..... On my site where ever there is an image with a link associated to it, there is a border around the image - a royal type blue for the link and a purple / lavendar for the visited link. Does anyone have an idea where to find that little hidden CSS or where to add some code to change it to dark gray / light gray ??  I believe it to be somewhere in a portal or defalt type css as I have checked the skin up an down.

You should be able to use the Web Developer's Toolbar shown in this tutorial to find the style that's the problem.

The Web Developer's toolbar doesn't display images when you are editing CSS, but it should help you locate the styling.  I'm assuming that you are looking for a style for image tags.

You could also view source on an offending page, find the image tags, and see which styles are applied.

If you wish to change the styling for borders around linked images, CSS code something like this will do it:

a:link img, a:visited img
{
color: orange;
}

Adding that code worked great on Firefox - Ive been using the developers kit and it works there too however it seems to have no effect in Explorer.

I can't see the code in your skin.css file, is it on the live site?

It may help to expand the code to:

a:link img, a:visited img, a:active img, a:hover img
{
color: orange;
}


or you could try:
a img
{
color: purple;
}
