How do I manually delete a containter?
I added a container to a panel. I got the "error loading" message, and now I cant remove the container because the icon to edit the panel is no longer available. Everything else on the page seems to work ok. I think I know what was wrong with the container, I just want to remove it from the page.

I assume that "panel" means module.
If you can't edit the module to remove or change the container, then you may be able to do this by directly altering the database table that contains the information that applies a specified container to a module.
Skin and container assignments to a page are stored in the Tabs table.
It looks like skin and container assignments to a module on a page are stored in the TabModules table.
I think that if you locate the module of interest in the TabModules table and set the skin and/or container to NULL, then the module will use the skin/container assigned to the page (tab). If those are NULL, then the default skin/container for the site will be used.
You can use SQL Server Management Studio Express (You can download it for free from Microsoft.com) to look at the database, open the tables, and modify them.
Bear in mind that SQL Server Management Studio Express is a rather powerful tool, and you can easily do significant damage with it. Make a backup of your database (with the same tool) before starting.

The other alternative is to access your DotNetNuke installation files, locate the folder where you installed the container and delete JUST the container folder for the container that is causing the problems. (Make a backup copy of the files incase of a mistake)
If DotNetNuke can not find that container it should default to the DNN-Blue container as long as you have not already deleted it.
Once it has defaulted to that container, go back into the module settings and select a different container as it will still be trying to use the old container that you have just deleted.
As with any of these methods - be careful and make a backup first, thanks,

Sorry it took so long to respond...
Ive got, good news bad news.
The bad news is that none of that worked. When I removed the files for the module, the cell would say "module not found"... but still wouldnt let me or change the container it.
And for some reason when I remove the name of the module from the database and replace it with "Null" I got the same thing. However, Im not sure if I know how to replace with null. The first time I deleted the text in the cell, but I think that is not the same as null, as it did not change to "null" even when I pressed the red exclamation point at the top the query editor (to execute sql). Then, I actually typed the word Null over the cell, which made it look like it contained null, but I think it just makes it look for a container named "Null" which, of course doesnt exist.
*** The good news is that all this was only happening on my test machine, so I just re-installed DNN.
