The date element in my dnn skin seems to be showing the date relevant to GMT rather than the timezone selected in the portal settings.

So for instance, the timezone for the portal is UTC +10.00 as I'm based in Brisbane Australia. The Timezone on the webserver which is running Windows 2003 server is set to GMT +10.00. So at 9am Brisbane time on Friday the 31st of August, the date showing via the date element in the skin is showing Thursday the 30th of August.

I didn't specify a date format for the date to display and it is defaulting to the day name followed by the day number, the month name and then the year. eg Thursday, 30 August 2007.

When I specify the date format to show the time and timezone it shows 11:50pm Thursday 30 August 2007 +10:00. So technically the time and date are right but just not displaying relevant to the local timezone.

Can you advise how I can specify the date and time relevant to the local timezone?

You've got several places where the time and time zone must be set correctly.

1. The computer
2. The host settings
3. The user's profile.

If 1 and 2 are correct, you should see the site's time zone if you aren't logged in.

If 1, 3 and 3 are set, you should see the correct time at the user's time zone when logged in.

Thanks for the help. The timezone property in the user profile was set to the correct timezone but it's visibility wasn't set to public. When I changed that it worked.
