dnn upgradation

I am getting the problem in upgradation of my site which is in 3.1. If I Upgrade it directly to 4.5.1 then upgradation is done with some error and I couldn't see even login page on clicking the login button.If i upgrade it to 3.2.2 then it is working properly.Now if I upgrade from 3.2.2 to 4.5.1 the same problem again come ,so can any one tell me that why it is not upgrading to 4.5.1 direclty. What should I do .....?

Upgrading directly from 3.x to 4.x may be difficult. I'd suggest that you upgrade your 3.x site to the highest 3.x version. Then, upgrade to the lowest 4.x version. Finally, upgrade your 4.x to 4.5.5.

It may help having a read of: How to Upgrade DotNetNuke v3.x to v4.4.1 to learn some of the techniques I used. - I would work through the solution using a copy of your live site on a localhost installation before attempting it on a live site
