I am trying to create my own skin. I downloaded all of the videos and I now I am trying to style my skin. I laid out my design using tables I don't really like them. I am used to laying out websites using pure CSS. Anyways, I have having some troubles with getting my links to style. They simply won't style. I set up the XML file so I would be able to style the Login,User,breadcrumb,search, and a few others. The only one that will take on the attributes that I set is the search. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. I spent over 12 hours yesterday trying to figure it out.

If you don't like tables, issue 8 walks you through how to create a CSS skin, but I would recommend that if you are new to DNN skinning that you get to know DNN through tables design first and then look at CSS skinning as there are a number of hoops you have to jump through to get it to work correctly.

For the links, it could be a number of things. - Have you followed the points through in the creating of the vortex skin for styling the links?

Set your class for each of the tokens within your XML file and then set those classes in your skin.css file?

If you don't specify certain elements the settings from the default.css file that comes with DotnetNuke take over, so that may also be the problem. This is outlined in issue 7 in the How to create re-sizable text in DNN.
