hello,

DNN is installed on my local computer.

i wanted to give access to a friend of mine to a website on my local computer so he can start working on it as well.

the address i use is:

http://localhost/DNN/Default.aspx?a...N/stupid16

but when i try to replace "localhost"

with the ip of my computer (from ISP)

then it replaces it back again with "localhost".

i created a web application in order to check if this is a general problem, however everything works there fine.

is there need to do some configuration in the IIS ?

I haven't set up a configuration like this before, but have you added the URL to the portals aliases?

- Go to Host Menu / Portals

You will see the list of portals you have installed, click on the edit pencil icon for the portal you wish to edit.

Scoll to the bottom

Portal Aliases

Click Add New HTTP alias

Enter the URL, without http://

This could be a local address ( ie. localhost ),
an IP address ( ie. 127.0.0.1 ),
a full URL ( ie. www.mydomain.com ),
or a server name ( ie. MYSERVER ).
do not include the "http://" protocol prefix
