One more issue here

Strange but in DNN 4.0.2 I can't make the search works, always return me with empty result.

Already try to resetting the search tables also run manually the re-indexing.

still no success.

Is this DNN 4.0.2's bug? or do you have any workaround for this problem?

mmm to be honest I don't know. - Have you set it to a short period of time, ie. 5 min - and is it definitely ticked to schedule.

I also tried to run re-index from Search Admin.. but it seems throws some errors in the log viewer.

Oh yah Lee - when you try rebuild (DNN 4.0.2) using VS2005 do you have these kind of error?

I never install dotnetnuke's gallery module but seems the forum module has some relations to it.

Do I need to install the gallery module? But from what I read the gallery module got some problems

Hi Jimmy, your devling into areas I haven't had chance to look at yet. If your getting errors in 4.0.2, do you know 4.0.3 is now available through sourceforge?

- It's not an official release yet, so there maybe a few areas that still need editing, but it's supposed to fix a few of the bugs: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/dnn

I don't think you need to install the gallery module for the forum module, but I could be wrong as I haven't looked at the DNN forum module in a long time. - I would go here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/795...fault.aspx

I have installed the 4.0.3 yesterday. So far my SearchXXXXXXXX tables still empty except for SearchIndexer table.
Seems like the indexing didn't run properly.

I will keep an eye out for any info for you. - Perhaps I could share some info with you regarding the search functionality at the moment which may change your approach.

Basically the current search functionality with DNN at the moment is not 100% - DNN Creative is running on v3.x and I have had to turn off the search indexer on the site. The reason for this is once the site grows to a large site, the indexer struggles to index all of the content and causes errors.

So the current search function box does not actually have all of the content on the site indexed!

The solution to this is to just put a search link, which will link to this page:
http://www.dnncreative.com/Tutorial...fault.aspx

(still to do, too busy creating tutorials!)

Which provides a much better search function. - It's from Scott McCullochs News Articles module.

In terms of RSS feeds, the News Articles module also handles the RSS, so both of the problems that you are having can be fixed using this method.

There are a few Articles based modules which are worth checking out in the reviews section. - This would be the way I would recommend going at the moment, especially for any sites that will have a lot of content.

I trashed my DNN site. It is hosted for me. How can I cause the initial script that ran when I went to the URL to run? I have had all the SQL tables/stored procs deleted.

Hi Howard,

If you have these problems as well as deleted modules as you mentioned in a previous post, I would strongly recommend that you do a complete re-install as it is likely that you will be receiving all sorts of errors without realising it.
