I'm using the included announcements module with DNN.  It works just fine for me however if there are no upcoming announcements the module is not displayed at all.  What I'd rather have happen is it still to show the module but just a message saying no current announcements available or something like that.

Without doing some programming, I can't think of an easy way to do this.

If, on the other hand, you speak VB, the source is available.  And, without having looked at the code, is should be fairly easy to insert a few lines that check how many announcements get displayed and, if the number is zero to display some text.

To get a handle on what is involved in modifying modules, you could take a look at How to improve a DotNetNuke module (The Blog module).

I speak fluent jibberish that sometimes contains valid VB code that actually works Thank you so much for posting, I looked at the article you mentioned and that opened up a lot more ideas for me. Uh oh, I'm dangerous now!
