error with adding portal alias

I have added a new portal (under Host settings) but when I look I see a red cross appearing in front of the new portal name.((under Host settings/Portals) And it is also not created or able to open or work. What can be the reason(s) for this error ? Any suggestion is welcome as it unables me to open my second DNN site. Regards, PetrosNL

Generally the "red x" means that you can click that red x to delete that data entry. The reason that red x would not appear in front of your other alias is because your original alias can not be deleted. If the alias is not resolving properly, it may not be setup properly. Try running a DNS report on your domains. I believe DNSStuff.com allows you to perform a few free reports before requiring membership. The domain you are using as an alias should resolve to the same IP address as your default domain.
