*Note: Membership to this portal is Verified. Once your account information has been submitted, you will receive an email containing your unique Verification Code. The Verification Code will be required the first time you attempt to sign in to the portal environment. All fields marked with an red arrow are required. | I want to change this text. Does anybody know where this is done? |

Exactly how do you want to change this page?
In general, we don't recommend digging into the code and making changes. This can become a real issue if you want to upgrade in the future. Most times, too, changes can be made using the tools provided by DotNetNuke: skins, localized text, modules, etc.
Tell us how you want to change things, and perhaps we'll have some more specific suggestions. |

Hi I have to change the design of registration page in dot net nuke .I want to add some paragraph in to that. Since I am new to this I don’t know where I have to do all these design changes. should I change the skin file. In that case where is the skin file that is applied to that page. Please reply as soon as possible. I have a very short deadline. Thank you. Priya Please respond in the forum, you will get a much quicker response than emailing. - Have you tried the above steps? - Doesn't this edit the text that you need? - You will need to provide an example of what you wish to edit if this doesn't cover your needs |

I can't find this element at the indicated location - I am on 4.6.2 - has it changed?
Here is the URL from the Language Editor - \admin\Users\App_LocalResources\ManageUsers.ascx.resx

It looks like the new home for this text is \admin\Security\App_LocalResources\Register.ascx.resx |

Joe,
Thanks for the quick response. Not sure if this a version issue but I don't have Regsiter.ascx.resx in my installation at that location. For my installation (4.6.2) I've located the resource at the following location:
Admin menu Langauges Language Editor Global Resources SharedResources
Resource Name: Register.Text
Changing this value will change the title on the registration page. Still searching for the text which follows.
Resource Name: PrivateMembership.Text
This is the text following the title for private membership portals.
Resource Name: PublicMembership.Text
This is the text following the title for public membership portals.
Resource Name: VerifiedMembership.Text
This is the text following the title for verified membership portals.
Hope this helps. Looks like it depends on what version is installed.

It does seem to be version dependent. Try looking in App_GlobalResources/SharedResources.resx. |

Hi,
Is it possible to create my own section help text? I have created a new section on my registration page caled "PersonalDetails". Can I enter some help text so that it's displayed on the registration page at the top of this section?
Cheers,
Marcus. |

Hi Joe,
I've created my new registration fields and categories through the usual UI in DNN. I know that the label text gets placed inside resource files and I'm wondering if the section text also gets put somewhere as well?
For example, in the registration page of the DNNCreative site there is a piece of text "Enter a Password" directly under the "Password" section. How was this created?
Also, is it possible to change the label sizes? I notice that your "Email Address" label has a different width to "Confirm Password".
Thanks,
Marcus. |

If you've used Manage Profile Properties, you can edit the text that goes with them, right?
For the built-in profile properties, you'll need to go to the Language Editor (Host, Languages, then click Language Editor link), find the text, and edit it.
Look under:
LocalResources, Admin, Security, App_LocalResources LocalResources, Admin, Users, App_LocalResources
and then look for the entries under there.
You can also find corresponding .resx files in your web directory and edit them directly with a text editor.
Remember that these will all be overwritten if/when you do an upgrade, so you should save copies. Also, you may find that some text moves around withing the collection of resx files, so you may have to do some additional work on a major upgrade. |

Oh, and I'm not sure about changing the widths of the columns. You might be able to so this with css, but I've never really looked at that. Use the "usual" tools like Web Developer Toolbar to see what is available, of stare at the .ascx files that hold the control code. |

Thanks Joe,
It's all a bit fiddly in the registration area. I ended up making some minor chanes to one of the core ascx files in order to modify the width. Don't like changing the core and always tell others never to do it. But it's just a minor cosmetic change.
Thanks for your help!

There are four items in the User Settings , which you can get to from the User Accounts page.
The first sets a requirement for unique email addresses. This is done in web.config.
The second two require valid profiles for registration and login (that's two check boxes).
There is also a regular expression to validate email addresses. I suppose you could see what happens if you set that to something that matches any expression. I think that you'd also want to turn off registration verification. |
