Hi Joe,
Thankyou for the information, I've managed to set up visual studio for module development so least now I can start to code.
Chris Hammonds tutorial series was really good and I used the book for reference too.
Though, it wasn't that straight forward, there were a few extra tasks not described that I had to complete, details below for anyone who is interested.
Though I haven't found much information on using the DNN API, I will post back here if/when I do.
Steve
Setting up your Module Development Environment:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources...nment.aspx The basics of module development:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources...pment.aspx In addition to the information given in the tutorials and videos I also had to do the following:
Remove the config file from the module level code
Edit the project file and replace dnndev with my urls.
Set the default.aspx file as the default in IIS.
To debug:
Set debug to true in web.config (as mentioned in the video)
Recompile in debug to create a pdb file (as mentioned in the video)
Use ‘attach to process’ as explained here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...f8e4z.aspx (not mentioned, couldn't make debugging work without this step)
