I'm trying to create page templates after watching your great video tutorial here:

A couple of things:
1) From the top menu, if I try to create a page Pages|Add New Page the template dropdown doesn't contain my new template. Although I copied it to: \Portals\_default\Templates
And \Portals\0\Templates. Interestingly though I can create a page based on the template using the import option. Is this intended behaviour or am I doing something wrong?

2) The video series first creates a child portal. Is there a reason for this?
It's just that I have my modules configured in the parent portal and it's more work to move them to the child portal.

That's interesting, and I had not noticed it before. I assume you are on the Admin, Page Management page?

You can, though, go to the new page and select "Import" to apply the template to the new page.

Using the Pages, Add Page menu, I do see newly created templates appearing in the dropdown.

I don't think that there was any special reason to create the child portal, other than to have it easily accessible.

Logged into the Superuser account, then from the top menu i took the pages option.

If I go to Admin, Page Management and right click the treeview control and take teh add page option, I can't see anyway to select a page template at all.
