I want our customers to be able to pay their bills to us using their credit cards. The finance company we work with has provided us with a simple snippet of HTML code that is essentially a button that we can put on our site and a customer can then click it and be taken to a secure site to pay their bill.

Outside of DNN, I've put this code into an HTML file and put it on a website and tested it out and it works perfectly - so I know there's nothing wrong with the snippet.

Inside DNN, I create a page and open up the HTML editor and paste the code into the editor - yes, I put it into the HTML view, not the Design or Preview. I then save it and the button shows up in the page, just like it should. The trouble is, I press the button and the page refreshes - and I'm back on the same page. It doesn't take me to the secure site like it's supposed to!

So, I look at the page source via my browser and determine that DNN is doing something to the HTML that I've placed on the page! For example, my HTML snippet has
<form> action="https://secure.federatedgateway.com/cart/cart.php" method="POST"> on the first line and DNN seems to have changed it to
<form> method="POST" action="https://secure.federatedgateway.com/cart/cart.php">

Other lines in the HTML snippet seem to have been changed from starting with the term
Anyone know what's going on here? Is there no way to paste some simple HTML into DNN and not have it alter it?!

Ian,

You've discovered what happens when you try to put a "form" inside of a DotNetNuke page. Because DotNetNuke is built around web forms, that's something that you can't quite do. So, you have to modify your snippet to remove the "form" part, leave the other stuff, but still have the data submitted when somebody clicks the button.
