I am wanting to modify the text that is displayed to a user when he attempts to register for the domain. DNN gives a blurb about required fields and waiting for the registration to complete. I wish to add to that.

Also, is it possible within DNN to make a user verify their registration via the e-mail they provided? Or must I buy a third party plugin?

If you want to change the text you will need to use the Language editor to find the strings that need changing.

Yes, verification by email is one of the available registration choices.

DotNetNuke stores all of the static text in Resource files. These can be changed from the Admin, Languages page. Use the last icon on the right to edit the text for your site.

The trick is finding the strings to edit. I believe that the registration texts are in the Global Resources file that will be opened automatically when you start to edit. Scroll down to find the text.
