Hi
As advised by the very helpful Joe Craig we have located the cause of the error. However how do you login into a DNN site when the login no longer works? Is there a backdoor? HELP!! We need to login to fix it so we have a problem.

Nathan,
That's great ... but what error did you fix, and how did you fix it? I'm sure that others can profit from that.
As for logging in ...
http://yoursite.com/login.aspx.
There is also /logoff.aspx to logout and /register.aspx to register.

Hi
The java script is the error but we cant fix it as we cant login. Even using your suggestion above doesnt allow us to login it just gets us to the login page. its like one of those catch 22 situations.

Ah, yes, those kinds of problems are really nasty ones!
What you are going to have to do is ... get into the database using SQL Server Management Studio, find where the offending code is stored, and remove it.
Where to look depends on where the script is entered. Can you remind me where that is?

OK, I've refreshed my memory (actually, reviewed email and looked at your site) and the problem seems to be with the script for Google Analytics.
So, the question is: which version of DotNetNuke is this, and where is the script produced? It doesn't look like it's in a module, so is it in the skin?
It looks like the script is in the header part of the page, so it's possible that you did this in the Site Settings. If so, look at the PortalSettings table.

Yes this is correct in the skin on the home page header section. Did it through the page settings. Really tricky stuff for non IT people. will find this SQL Server Management Studio and have a crack at the database. thanks

SQL Server Management Studio is a free download at Microsoft.com.
If you download the same file I downloaded for a friend earlier this week, the installer will look like it's installing SQL Server. Just ignore that and accept all of the default selections and keep clicking Next until it is installed.

If you are the non-IT person, it might be easier/safer to pay somebody to do this for you. DNNDeveloper.com is a good place to find qualified support.
And, before you start be sure to make a backup copy of your database and file directory. (I'm spending way too much time this week working on a site that was badly damaged this way and without a backup. That's a real nightmare!)
