The live web site has image references that read something similar to this:
img alt="" src="http://www.dnncreative.com/Portals/0/psi.PNG"
Which the browser interprets as: http://www.thecommonhealth.com/Portals/0/psi.PNG
The challenge is that the relative reference doesn't work with the localhost version - the browser interprets the reference as: http://localhost/Portals/0/psi.PNG
Am I missing a setting to let DNN and/or IIS know that the root is localhost/thecommonhealthcom rather than just localhost..?
Thanks,
Gerard
P.S. I used this tutorial to transfer LiveSite to loacalhost:

If you look for a blog post by Joe Brinkman, you will find that you can use the domain lvh.me that resolves to localhost. With this, you can treat your local site as a subdomain and refer as thecommonhealth.com.lvh.me. So, no problem with the extra subdirectory. I've found this to be VERRRRY useful.
You will need to put the new url into portalalias.

Joe, could you explain this again? I think I'll appreciate understanding. Is this a trick that keeps the images working when running a site locally temporarily?

Yes, that's one of the things that it does.
Basically, it provides a domain name for your local site, so that it isn't effectively in a subdirectory. It's the subdirectory issue that prevents files from being accessed properly, and that includes images.
As an example, consider an image that is in Portals/0/images/myimage.jpg.
On your live site, the actual reference might be http://mysite.com/Portals/0/images/myimage.jpg.
Now, if you move the site and install it in localhost, you've generally got something is then http://localhost/dotnetnuke and your images appear to be in http://localhost/dotnuke/Portals/0/images/myimage.jpg. This looks like there is another directory in there.
Using the dnndev.me domain and dns, you create a local website that is http://mysite.dnndev.me. This is actually resolved by DNS as the localhost address, but there is no extra implied subdirectory.
I hope that's right. It's the way that I understand it. Better ... it actually works!
