get users online info for a skin object

I want to be able to put one line that is a total count of all users online at that moment. like www.smh.com.au (in the top left they have "2134 online now"). is this possible, maybe through a skin object or token. this is not the same as the current usersonline module that is big and bulky. thanks

Yes, you could do this with a skin object. If you look at the source of the UsersOnline module, youcan see how to get the current users who are online. You could also grab the source for the UsersOnline module and make a new module with only the information you want to display. I took a quick look, and it appears that most of the heavy lifting is ultimately performed by a store procedure DNNUOL_GetOnlineUserStatistics.

However, you should note that you can get the display of the UOL module down to one line. You can adjust the text that is displayed, too, with the Language Editor. With a tad bit more work, you wan edit the .ascx file to move the text around, or to add new stuff to the display.
