<script type="text/javascript" src="http://tweetmeme.com/i/scripts/button.js"></script> <br /> <br /> I'm sure I'm making a bsic error but do not know what it is :-( <br /> <br /> Thanks in advance for help <br /> <br /> Dave

Which version of DotNetNuke are you using. If your are using 6.x, you should upgrade to 6.1.2. Some earlier versions stripped scripts from HTML content.
If you are using an earlier version, paste the script into either the the module's header or footer (Module Settings). It's usually safer to put scripts there, anyway.

Hi Joe
Thanks - Interestingly I am running 6.1.2 (98)
The Editor is stripping the script, but putting it into the Header does work
However I wonder if it the chosen HTML Editor
In Host Settings --> HTML Editor Manager I currently have DotNetNuke RadEditorProvider selected
But 2 others are available, FckHTMLEditorProvider and TelerikEditorProvider
Do you think it could be the choice of HTML Provider?
The FckHTMLEditorProvider gives me an error when I try to use it and the TelerikEditorProvider also strips the script.
In this instance adding it to Header and Footer is fine
Regards
Dave

Hi Dave,
Removing scripts was introduced as a security measure and caused much discussion over at the dotnetnuke.com forums as there was originally no way to turn it off. In DNN 6.1.2 you now have the option to remove scripts or not (by allowing them it's your fault if things go wrong).
To turn auto removal of scripts off, go to Host > HTML Editor and click Everyone, then untick Remove Scripts in the Content Filters section. However, leave it on if adding scripts to headers and footers suits your purposes.
For reference, the FCK Editor doesn't work with DNN 6, its successor (CK Editor) is available to download from CodePlex.

Thanks Pingle2009
WOW!!!!
The extra configuration of the HTML Editor is amazing.
At least now if I need to add script into the body of the HTML I can now do it by going to those settings and enabling scripts.
You just have to remember an HTML module contains a script, if you set it back, which might be prudent.
However as I write this the alternative is to have HTML module A with first part of content script as Footer, followed by HTML module B with the rest of the content.
The extra configuration has some powerful stuff which I think is not for the feint hearted to change. BUT (big BUT) I noticed that you can set the CSS for the Editor, which can prove useful as you could change the CSS file and presumably see the content as you edit it as the user would see it. But, again, an issue if you have child portals with different skin and therefore Look and Feel.
Do you know if you can add extra config beyond Everyone so that the Admin for Child Portal 1 could have CSS 1 and Admin for Child Portal 2 could have CSS 2?
Thanks again

No, I don't think that can be configured per portal.
