I followed the video tutorials and actually went through the process twice. I've read all the posts regarding the portal alias and still not working. I get "Problem Loading Page" in firefox when attempting to access via the parent machine in which the Virtual PC is running. CAn this be a port issue or a security issue? The video tutorial references ASPNET user which doesn't exist in windows 7. Can this have something to do with it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This could be any of a number of issues.

The first thing that you should try is to set up a website that has a simple index.html page in it. Once you have that site running and visible from the other PC, you at least know you have a site set up. Then you can move on to other issues.

Websites in Windows run under a user account and ASPNET is the user that was set up in the tutorial. If you look at the (I hope I'm remembering this correctly) the properties of the AppPool set up for the site, you'll see the user that needs to have access to the website files.

Also, is there more detail than "Problem Loading Page"? Perhaps another browser will provide additional details.

IIS is running and the DefaultAppPool has the required "Modify" security credentials
Created an Alias of http://192.168.1.6/DNN563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.1.6/DNN563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.1.6/DNN563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.1.6/DNN563 on the portal

When attempting to connect from another PC (The PC running teh virtual Machine) using http://192.168.1.6/DNN563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.1.6/DNN563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.1.6/DNN563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.1.6/DNN563 - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.6.
I can Ping the IP no problem.

Note: The Tutorial states "set the application pool to Classic" which I did

Got it...! Firewall issue on the virtual PC blocking incoming traffic.
