I updated to 6.1.1 and parts of our menu does´t work. It seems to be a layer problem.

Position 1 to 3 in the submenu works correct. From position 4 in the submenu it collides to the first module on the current page and it couldn´t be clicked. I attached a pic about the problem. "Produkte"-submenu works, but "Forum"-submenu doesn´t work, because it on the same horizontal line like the HTML-Module called "Vertriebswettbewerb".

Can anybody give me a tip?

You didn't say from which version of DotNetNuke you upgraded, but I'm going to guess that it was from version 5.x.

There have been many changes to the DotNetNuke UI in going from 5.x to 6.x. Many of these are related to the new control panel and the use of popups in the DotNetNuke framework. Many of these involve use of the z-index attribute in CSS files. These are particularly noticeable in older skins. I've been fighting a number of these issues across multiple sites for several weeks.

You will need to debug and pay special attention to the use of z-index in your skin. If it's possible, I would recommend that you consider reworking your skin to use the DDR Menu that is now part of DotNetNuke. Doing so will simplify styling the menu, and should save you lots of headaches. You should also make sure that your skin operates in "standards compliance mode" (use an XHTML doctype). You should also test across browsers, and that includes IE7, 8, and 9.

I made your attachment visible and have looked at it. Are you using the Minimal Extropy skin?

If so, make sure that you are using the version of that skin packaged for DotNetNuke 6.

You might try switching to the Dark Knight skin for testing. If the menu works there, then it's definitely a skin/CSS problem.

I'm having similar issues with the Minimal Extropy skin after upgrading to the latest version of DNN 06.01.02. The skin worked fine on 06.00.00 but after upgrade the skin doesn't show the contents of containers (or the container for that matter) when being viewed in IE7. Where do you find the version of the Minimal Extropy skin that is packaged for new versions of DNN 6?

I might have said that wrong. There is no Minimal Extropy skin specially built for 6.x. The default skin for 6.x is the Dark Knight skin. So, if you are having trouble, switch the site to use the Dark Knight skin and see if that cures the problem. If it does, then the problem is in your skin.

Oh I see, switching to Darknight fixes the issue unfortunately we like the look and feel of minimalExtropy better. Do you know of any tools for editing existing skins? I'm wondering if there is an easy way to either modify the darknight skin's appearance to act more like minimalextropy or change minimalextropy to work better in DNN 6 ect...

I would go with the option of trying to fix the ME skin. The trick is to figure out what is wrong with it.

First, check under Extensions, Skins to see which version of ME is installed. If it is not the most recent (I think that the 5.6.x versions of DotNetNuke) then install the most recent one.

Next, I would apply the ME skin to a specific page on your site and use that for testing.

If the problem is containers, check the page source to see if the content is actually included, and just not being displayed.
