I have been receiving this message in the event viewer and in my non-dev eye it appears to be related to the skin container. Can anyone help me confirm or interpret the real meaning? System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.get_Item(Int32 index) at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.Container.GetPortalModuleBase(UserControl control) |

Yes, it seems that way. If you change the container, does the error go away? It might be helpful to see the entire error. Also, if you download the Symbol Files that correspond to your DotNetNuke version and copy them into the installation's bin directory, you'll get line numbers in the trace. This might also be helpful. |

Where might I locate the symbols file? |

The symbols package is one of the items that you can download. Go to the DotNetNuke downloads page, select your version of DotNetNuke, and then you will see the link to download the Symbols package. |

The Symbols package is a zip file and install like any other DotNetNuke extension. |

My apologies for my ignorance, but there is no bin directory in the Install directory on any of my installations. |

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. Download the Symbols package. Then go to the Host, Extensions page and install it as you would install any other module. (The bin directory is in the installation's root, not the Install directory.) |

Did you get that error when you tried to install? Which version of DotNetNuke? What were the exact steps that you followed? When did the error appear? |

DNN 6.01.00 I get the error from the default container on each page. I don't have to do anything other than select a page. There are pages, and pages, and pages of this exception in the event log. I don't know where line 658 is as the skin or container css nor aspx pages have that many pages. There is no 'F:\" drive either. I don't have to do anything to generate this error other than select a page with the default skin package container. |

Is this something new on an existing site? The path looks like it is related to a build directory. Did this start after installing the symbol files? |

Turns out to be an issue with the container - I sent an email to the designer/support and they sent an updated package that resolved the issues. |

That's what it looked like, so I'm glad you confirmed it ... AND got it fixed! |

I plan to do a compare diff on the container files and will post the differences if there aren't too many in case someone else has an issue with the same provider. |

The only variance is in the container.ascx file: Original {div class="more"}[MORE]{/div} Updated {div class="more"}{dnn:MORE runat="server" id="dnnMORE" /}{/div>} If anyone uses AllDnnSkins 5.x, and you have similar event viewer errors thrown, this might be worth checking out. (sub {} with <> respectively) This line also didn't exist in the original: {%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="MORE" Src="~/DesktopModules/more/More.ascx" %}
