Hello, I have created a module that has two .ascx controls. The first control is placed on a page, checks if the user email cookie is null. If it's null, it (GetEmail.ascx) requests user email. After the email is provided, the Submit button on this control takes the user to another page where another (DealSuccessful.ascx) control displays a success message to the user and stores the email on the client in a cookie. If the email cookie exists, the above redirect happens right away to the second page where DealSuccessful.ascx is. functionality.

I am new to DNN and need some advice on how to accomplish that...in ASP.NET that would be an easy task - but here I need to learn how the DNN container works.

In particular, I would like to know if this model will work and some practical explanation, links of how to accomplish that:

One Module - 2 ascx controls - 2 DNN pages. The page with the GetEmail control checks the cookie value and redirects to the page with DealSuccessful control.

I am aware of using two panels on one page but it will not work as there will be some page specific other modules like GoogleAnalytics that apply differently for the two pages and I don't see if/how I can control that behavior in a multiview scenario.

I recommend two resources: Mitchel Sellers' book on module development (Amazon and other places) and Michael Washington's adefwebserver.com website. On the latter, you will find some advice on how to set up your module and how to navigate around.

One trick that I've seen used is to place the two controls in separate panels within a single larger control. Your navigation then consists of turning the panel displays on and off as appropriate.

A DotNetNuke module is just a control that can be placed on a page. (A 'container' in DotNetNuke terminology is something different.)
