Thanks for your welcoming email.

I have already started looking at Lee’s tutorials for skinning and so far, so good.

I am used to using VWD, so that makes it a bit easier. However, I do have one question and I would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

When I installed DNN6, I didn’t have any options to select the location where I wanted it installed. When I create a portal it is placed down the path
C:\users\sally\documents\my websites\

I really don’t want it here; I keep my websites and data on d: drive. Can you tell me how I change this default?

Hi Sally, Which method did you use to install DNN? Was it through the microsoft web platform installer or did you download the zipped files from the DNN website?

You can install DotNetNuke anywhwere. And if you have it installed, you can simply move it by copying the files from their current directory to one of your choice.

Having done that, you will then need to change the settings in IIS for your installation. Open IIS, select the website and then select Properties. Set the home directory to point to the directory into which you've moved DotNetNuke. The important thing to remember is that DotNetNuke is "just another website" as far as IIS is concerned.

There is one additional thing that is required. All of the files in the directory must be configured so that the "IIS worker task" has full permissions for the files.
