I've been using DNN v5 for several years but only really a basic site. Now looking at DNN v6 for a new commercial site so I've installed a fresh version of DNN v6 on a VM. But I seem to be having slightly more rendering problems that I'd like...
Is DNN ready for prime time or should I come back in a few months when it's been through a few more updates?
Cheers, Rob.

Yes, I think that it's more than ready for prime time. Make sure that you are using Version 6.0.2. There were some minor cosmetic issues, mostly related to z-index in css, but I think that these have been fixed. But, I think that 6.x is the most stable version of DotNetNuke, and it is quite speedy! The new UI is appealing, too. You can also turn off the pop-ups using the Site Settings page.
There will be a version 6.1 released in the next few days to weeks that will add some nice features, particularly for mobile site applications.
If you want something that is very good and quite stable, 5.6.3 is there. For new sites, though, I'd go with 6.x.
(Now ... what specific rendering problems are you seeing?)

Specific problem is the drop down menu not rendering correctly. Each line is a different length and it looks like the "bullet" graphic is missing. Brand new DNN v6 website with standard menu skin. See attached screensshot.

Which version of DotNetNuke is it?
And, is that a clean install with an unmodified version of the Dark Knight skin?

DotNetNuke Community Edition 06.01.00 (1171) and unmodified Dark Knight - not learnt how to edit skins yet. Installed via web installer using SQL 2008 Express locally. Happened to have installed twice and same problem each time. Same with IE8 and IE9 with/without compatability.
Cheers, Rob.

It would seem to be a CSS issue. But, I'm not sure where it's coming from.
One thing that you could try doing is copying the Dark Knight skin from the Install package (as opposed to the web installer) and reinstalling it. You will find it in the Install/Skin folder. Just copy the zip file to your desktop and install it.

Should really change the title of this thread :-) I've tried re-installing the skin manually as you suggest and it's not made any difference. I've just cloned the my base VM before DNN and will go through the installation again more carefully this time, maybe doing a manual install as opposed to web installer.

One more thing to do is to make sure that this isn't a caching issue in your browser.
If you completely delete the Dark Knight skin and containers and reinstall it, this should work.
