When creating a new page, several extra modules are being added to the page. They are modules that are on several other pages of the site but shouldn't be added to new pages. I've created a page template that doesn't contain these modules but they are being added anyway. Any solution for this?

The problem is that you have those modules configure to appear on every page, and that is exactly what they are doing. This is correct, yet annoying, behavior.
If you plan to use the page template often and if the modules are duplicates, you can edit the page template to prevent duplication on the new pages.
Or, you can do what I do: after the page is created, delete what you don't want to be there. If you aren't doing this often, it won't make you too annoyed ... maybe.

I understand about having the module display on all pages, that is what we want it to do. The issue is, when you add a new page, it adds the module about a dozen times. That's why I tried creating a template to get around it. Go here http://i.imgur.com/4XvXK.png to see what I mean. Any ideas?

I didn't understand that it was adding multiple copies.
Make sure that the template file is correct and that it doesn't add multiple copies all by itself.
---------
If this is caused by some strange problem in DotNetNuke, here is something that you can try.
1. Go to an instance of the module, change the setting so that it doesn't appear on every page.
2. Look around to see if the module is still appearing on multiple pages (it shouldn't). If you find that, delete all of those modules.
3. Empty the Recycle bin
4. Go back to the instance in Step 1 and set the module to appear on all pages.
5. Check all of your pages again, and move the module to the correct place on each page if needed.
6. Now try adding a page. Did that fix the problem?
(I'm guess that you may have the module in question installed on multiple pages separately, then each one is set to appear on every page, and that's why you get what you get.)
I'd do this experimentation on a copy of the site, not a live site!

I think that I wrote that suggestion by reliving a nightmare from my past!
