I suspect the issue is that the modal div that is going to become active has to be within the main window but how do I get this to be the case? We build the custom module and the popup is located within the module but since the module is within a content pane in the skin I cannot figure out how the make the modal popup center within the viewport of the browser. Can someone point me the correct direction please?

After reading what I said it is not very clear. We are trying to write modules for our DNN and we often need to apply pop up dialogs to reguest information from the user. In the newest version of DNN these are used in many places. My problem is that our user may have scrolled down our module and when we do the pop up we want to center it in the browser viewport just like DNN but it winds up trying to center itself in the center of the module. I have done this often in regular ASP.NET pages but I don't know how to get the center of the viewport in a DNN page. Can someone tell me how to calculate the coordinates to make the pop dialog center in the middle of the viewport please? Thanks

A quick google shows that DotNetNuke uses the jQuery UI Dialog. Looking at the documentation for that shows that the position option is relative to the viewport.

So, you might start there. If you do, the default.CSS has styles for tha jAuery UI elements, so these will match the default site style. These can always be overridden.
