Thanks Lee - and Lynn for replies.
I checked out Issue 17 and it was very good, - exactly what I needed - now I have an idea about the ‘Portal concept’ that I didn’t have before.
I did attempt to set up a new portal, but when I click “Create Portal” I get a page saying “Page can not be displayed”. When I get back on the web-page the new portal is listed as expired – and I can’t log on to it.
I then attempted to create a new Portal with a web address as portal alias, at this attempt “Create Portal” actually took me away to a web page. I navigated back to my own “localhost – page” and found the new portal listed as expired.
Following your instructions I navigated to “Host settings” and found the expiry date blank. I entered the date of the 30th of April 07 and checked again – still expired.
I returned to “Host settings” and deleted the entered date but the Portal remains expired.
Questions:
Is the “Portal Alias – format” critical?
Do I need to set the DNS and pointing to IP address when testing in localhost?
If so, that should be local IIS settings only for a localhost application?
Also:
On my hosted page (hosted at re-invent but not set up yet.), should I start by re-naming the default portal to the same as my URL?
Cheers, and thanks a lot for help and a great web-page.
Jlle…
PS. I put this on the forum in case of public interest, but will E-mail as well with a couple of pictures.
