Hi, I'm developing new module that should get some images from the SQL database in DNN. I would like to know if there is any guideline or video training that would help me connecting with the DB and presenting the information on the website. thanks.

Take a look at Chris Hammond's series of blog posts regarding module development and his VS template for modules. It's on the Blogs section of DotNetNuke.com. To go with it, there is a huge multiple part series of short video tutorials on the creation of a "task manager" module. That series is chock full of "best practices" in modules development. Pay particular attention to the tutorials on the Data Access Layer and how it is implemented. This goes along with Chris' module template and can be found in the Resources section at DotNetNuke.com. You'll also find another quite similar take on module development in Mitchel Sellers' book "Professional DotNetNuke Module Programming."
