Dnn 6.0 redirect after login problem

Hi, I have installed new dnn v6.0 and cannot configure redirect to Home page after login. In previous v5.5 it works. So I have 2 pages, Welcome and Home, Welcome should be hided (it is ok) and Home should be shown instead of Welcome page after login. I have configured Site setting to show Home page but it stays on this Welcome page and says 'access denied' (but I need to be on Home page instead). Is it known problem? Please help.

I just checked on my DotNetNuke 6.0 installation and the functionality is working for me. So, we need to figure out what "access denied" is referring to. Can you check the Event Log and see if there is anything logged there? If so, please copy an entire log entry and post it here so that I can get a better look at the issue.

You have the Welcome page defined as the "splash" page and you have it's persmissions set to be visible only by administrators and unauthenticated users. Once someone is logged in, they can't view the Welcome page. That is why, after logging in, ordinary users (authenticated but not administrators) get the "access denied" message. You do not have the "redirect after login" specified. You need to go the the Admin, User Accounts page and then click "Manage" on the User Accounts module. Select User Settings and then go to the User Accounts Settings tab. Scroll down to specify a "Redirect After Login" page.

Thanks, I supposed Home page settings in the Site settings for this purpose. Please clarify Home page purpose.

If the Splash page is undefined, the Home page is normally the one shown when you visit the site without specifying a page. It is also (I think) the target of the link in the Logo skin object. There may be other uses, but I'm not remembering anything right now. There is no need to always redirect to a home page after login (or logout or registering). It is your choice, and that is why it is configurable. In fact, there could be many reasons why you do not want to redirect the user.
