Installing DNN using remote SQL server

Hi-Trying a DNN install on web server and using a remote SQL server for database. Set up the DNN install files on root and also configured IIS as required...Set up SQL 2005 DB on remote server. Started up the install wizard via browser...got the the DB part....Asks if I want to select "SQL Server 2005/2008 Database"...checked that option...Filled out fields with IP# and credentials....received error...See attached! Thanks! P.S. Read somewhere that you should edit "webconfig" but was not sure if I should....

It looks like your attachment is missing. If you set the credentials correctly in the installer, you should be ok. As you have an error, my first guess would be that you have a problem with the connection string. 1. Start SQL Server Management Studio on your web server and verify that you can connect to the remote SQL server. 2. Open up web.config and look at the connection strings. Compare the connection string to the credentials that you used in #1. You can edit the connection strings if they need correcting. Note that there are actually two places in web.config where you need to provide the connection string. Make sure that both are ok.
