I have installed the DNN_MENU_SUITE menus onto my page. It uses jquery 1.3.x. My website is a 5.X installation and uses jquery 1.4.2. I try and put the FreeContentList module (in UMG 7.0 from BizSolutions) for photo display onto the same page and it does not cycle thru the photos like it should. If I remove the menu from this page the photo module does work. In investigating this the photo module company is pointing their finger at the other module and saying that it is a jquery conflict.

At their suggestion I tried removing the jquery.js file from the particular menu that I have instantiated on that page. The menu still worked but this didn't fix the photo module (ie. it would only refresh to a new photo when the pge refreshes - not like it is supposed to every 3 seconds).

Any ideas on what I can try? It is unfortunate that one module that works on 5.x and another module that works on 5.x can't seemingly coexist.

Yes, you've probably got a jQuery conflict.

If you are using a current version of DotNetNuke, jQuery is included. Modules should NOT be using private copies of jQuery. If they are, that is the sign of a bad module. Get your module developers to update.

By the way, I've used the UMG module without problems. I don't recall that it uses a separate version of jQuery, but I could be wrong. So, if that isn't using its own jQuery and something else is ... that is the problem.

I haven't used DNN Menu Suite. Check with those developers. They should have a solution if it's their (very old) version of jQuery that is the source of the problem.
