Hello Lee or Joe, I was wondering if you might be able to help me with this one. I am currently using DNN 5.6 with the telerik RAD editor as my html provider. I uploaded a few files to an image folder I specially created for this purpose. After doing this I added some content to my homepage and via the image editor selected the images I wanted to insert in this html module on this home page and inserted them successfully. About a couple weeks later my client was not happy with what I named these files as I preceeded each file name with a name that resembled its compe ion and they didn't want their customers to be confused or get in trouble with the compe or. I thought this would be no problem so rather than renaming these files by going through an ftp account I did it right through the DNN framework via filemanager thinking if I use DNN filemanager to rename these files rather than something like cuteftp or filezilla the dnn engine will know about this change and recursively remap any image name that was inserted in its html module to reflect the new name scheme that I used by clicking on rename file through file manager. Unfortunately when I went back to my homepage where I had inserted these images before the renaming process took place and did a ctrl + F5 I noted that all these links were broken. I went to edit the module and noticed that the path in the source of this module still showed the name the image use to be called when I had actually inserted these images into the module before I went to the file manager and renamed these picture files. What I realized is that there was no ripple effect that occured when I renamed the file in the filemanager that rippled through any module where I used the image editor to insert the image from area where I renamed the file from. What I ended up doing is simply clicking on each image and reslecting the file with the new name clicking insert and than saving the changes and after that it seemed the file path reflected the new naming scheme so was not broken. I guess the bottom line with all these things is this. Isn't there someway in which one can change the name of a file in the filesystem and the paths that pointed the old file be modified to reflect the name change in the file system. I mean what is for example I had say 25 pages in which I inserted various pictures and a month down the road for whatever reason found it necessary to rename the source file weather it be an image, pdf, etc... Isn't there someway for DNN to remap any image that was inserted with the image editor in the telerik RAD HTML provider so that instead of having to go to every page that had a certain path mapped to the old filename and manually remapping it by clicking on the image and reslecting the newly named file from the file system isn't there a way for DNN to recognize paths that went to a given image being renamed and recursively renaming those file names in the html module source in some cascading sort of way so that one could rename a file without having every link that was created when the file was called something different be broken. I'm thinking of some stored procedure or some sql querey that might automatically be triggered when you rename a file in the filemanager that says look for any occurance of file [X] and replace this with [X-newname]whereever it maybe found in DNN tables? Anyway if you have any idea of how one might go about telling DNN to do such a recursive or cascading change once a file in the filesystem was renamed that would be extremely helpful as I can envision that this issue could crop up again. In my case I only had to manually tweak like 5 or 6 images on one page since I hadn't created a bunch of image with a name that wasn't appreciated but I am picturing a real headache and lots of development time taking place if this kind of thing should happen to a file in the filesystem that is bieng used in multiple locations through hundreds of pages in a DNN installation so this is why I am interested in understanding if there is some method to go about this for the times when manually relinking each picture by editing each module that has a path to that image is not feasible. Thanks for listening and for your feedback, Bo

When you enter a link with a URL, that text gets stored in the module's content, and there is no other link to the filename.
If you use the LinkClick instead with a FileTicket, I think that will be independent of the filename.
If you have text links and would like to do a large "cut/paste" to change the filenames, you might be able to use Engage Software's (free) F3 module. It will do a cut and paste in HTML modules.
