Hi I have tried to make a clean installation on a hosted webserver but i get error? is there someone who can see whats wrong with my web.config file code? in connectionString="Server= (here i put the host name wright?) in Database=(here i put the DB name wright?) in uid=(here i put the DB login name wright?) in pwd=(i put the password wrigt?) is there something else i have to think about? i hope someone can help to set up my web.config file so that i can install. <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 --> --> <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules -->

I'm not sure that this is correct. When I do my web.config file, I use the server name for Server= I think you will need to contact your hosting company to ask them what the server name is.

Well ... I totally missed that question. Yes, it does seem that you are using the correct parameters. But, you will need to make sure that you are using the correct form of the connections string (it's different for SQL and SQL Express). You will also need to make sure that the DotNetNuke application is able to communicate with the SQL server. One way of testing that you are at least using the correct credentials is to use SQL Server Management Studio and use your credentials to connect to the database server. Are you able to do that? If you are, you know that you have the correct values for server, database, user id and password. Next, are you using SQL Server or SQL Server Express? -------- Finally, if you are installing using the Wizard, that will set your connections strings correctly once you have specified everything in the Wizard's input screen.
